As I sat there critiquing the speeches given by the teachers, I was reminded of my Orientation Day all those years ago at Baulko. I didn't know anyone in the grade except Emma, Tammy and Florence. It was the first time I went to a state school. And I remember that Mr Fugaccia was talking to us and then a parent came and asked why there was an orange on the school crest although it had been explained in one of the speeches. Yeah, I remember strange insignificant things...
I also remember thinking that six years was such a long time and now, we have been out on the other side of high school for a while. Must've blinked...or was it time contraction? =P Anyway, I should be seeing most of you Baulko people back at Baulko next Thursday. All the best and we shall see each other soon =)
So after we got back from Orientation, we were to find that our wonderful neighbour got someone to clean their roof of which we were oblivious to, which meant that side of the house is now covered in muck. Extremely considerate. Would be considerate again. I mean, how hard would it have been to tell us beforehand, I mean we live literally next to each other.
But no, they choose to tell you when the job is half done that maybe it would be a good idea to move your clothes and stuff - but only because they realised that you had come home... I didn't even get a 'Hello' when I opened the door - just a "Tell your parents to move the stuff" which we were doing already straight after we got home.
On the other hand, he got me posting...
Well this evening, my brothers are getting awards at their Presentation Night and man, am I a proud big brother! =) As I have tried to tutor them, I have gotten this sense that they feel inadequate as they live in my shadow. Need to try to boost their self-confidence somehow...
And because of the occasion, I get to test out my skills as a caregiver as I chauffeur my brothers from school and cook an early dinner since my parents are busy. Hopefully the stuff is edible =)
Oh look! A long post again. Not to mention my 50th post! Don't know how much longer I can keep this up -_-"
